Keitha Smith

keithaBorn and raised in New Zealand, Keitha met her husband, Paul, at Capernwray Bible School in England in 1987. After spending two and a half years in the U.K, Keitha and Paul decided to settle permanently in New Zealand. On her return Keitha worked in the banking industry but spent much of that time working in the training and education side of that field.

Keitha wrote her first book – a children’s twist-a-plot novel – as a class project when she was sixteen but never really considered writing as something a person might do as a profession! However, through her twenties and thirties her love of writing continued to grow, with her main focus on writing women’s fiction.

At the same age, sixteen, Keitha started attending a youth group at a local church and through this group came to know God. Capernwray Bible School proved to be a huge learning curve in her faith, and the teaching she was exposed to there is still very influential on her journey with Jesus.

Keitha is mother to two children – Lauren who is thirteen and Alex who is ten – and was inspired both as a writer and a mother to develop material that meets the needs of Christian mothers in today’s challenging environment.

As well as writing, Keitha leads a women’s ministry group at her church and serves as chairperson on the local school’s Board of Trustees. She attends Birkenhead Community Church in Auckland, New Zealand.
